By Reason
tour one [ 5 of 6] NEXT> The God of the Bible encourages us to use our minds and to think logically. Reasonable arguments are made and conclusions about history are encouraged in Christianity. Do other religions generally do the same? Visit any part of the world...talk to the people of any religion...and no matter how committed they are to their beliefs, they tend not to make objective, logical arguments in defense of their religion. They will defend their moral beliefs with logic and reason but not the core source of their particular religion. When it comes to logic and reasoned arguements, Christianity is unique. And it is unique because Jesus Christ is unique. His uniqueness is defended through reasoned arguements based on His claims and the historical evidence of His resurrection. Vertually everyone, from all religious traditions, admit that Jesus is unique among religious leaders and His life and ministry demand that one either accepts of deny the evidence of His death and resurrection. There has never been a man like Jesus of Nazareth! He is the most unique personality of all time. Jesus changed the direction of history. Even the date on your morning newspaper testifies to the fact that Jesus of Nazareth lived on earth nearly 2,000 years ago. In his famous book Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis makes this reasoned statement about Jesus, Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Your life on this earth and for all of eternity is affected by your answer to this question. All the other major religions [such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Shintoism and Islam] were founded by prophets and are based on man-made philosophies, rules and norms for behavior. Take the founders of these religions out of both their moral disciplines and practices of worship and little would change. tour one [ 5 of 6] NEXT > TO BEGIN
