Why are we building this website?

We want to provide a practical tool that the average Christian can use to effectively become involved in the ministry of gift giving to their lost friends and family members.

Have you ever gone into a Christian book store searching for just the right gift for an unsaved friend or family member? You want them to enjoy your gift but at the same time you want the gift to have a spiritual impact. If your experience is anything like mine, you have probably stopped trying. I have found it to be mostly a waste of time and an exercise in frustration. For the most part, Christian book stores are designed for Christians—not non-Christians.

I can recall standing in front of a book rack at a local Christian book store and reflecting on the following questions:

Would they really be interested in this book, movie, etc?
Is this book too spiritual for them (too much religious content)?
How do I know that this book is evangelical in its teachings?
Is this book critical of my friends religious background?
Is this book too intellectual or academic for my friend?

If I haven’t read the book myself or seen the movie—I’m at a loss. I really can’t adequately answer the questions I’m asking. But I’m desperate to find something. So I guess or decide just not to buy it!

This website is designed to answer the questions above in an effective and expedient way and to suggest appropriate gifts. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of great, relevant, contemporary and appropriate books, movies and instructional tapes and CDs that if you and I knew about them we’d love to give them to our valued friends and family members. However, we don’t know about them and so we are unable to give gifts that could more effectively draw our friends and family members to Christ.
