How will we be committed to
evangelical truth?
Bad Theology is on the Rise in America
Americans are reading, listening to and seeing bad theology everyday. The
truth about God, His Son Jesus Christ and the essential components of the
gospel are being lost to many in our culture. By giving gifts of truth to
our unsaved friends and family members we are reinforcing the essentials
of Christianity and encouraging them to move closer to the real God, the
God of the Bible.
Therefore, it is our desire to see evangelical theology understood and
appreciated by those who are exposed to the resources suggested on this
web-site. We are committed to only suggest materials that clearly does not
contradict, nor ridicule the essential teachings of Christianity. The
following is a list of key teachings that the Barna Research Group
has identified that characterizes and defines Evangelical Christianity in
America during the past 40 years. We will be using these criteria in
evaluating each resource that is reviewed. Only those that meet these
criteria or that are silent about these areas will be recommended.
-
The belief that a
personal commitment to Jesus Christ is important to live life today.
-
The belief that a
person will go to heaven based on their confession of sin and their
acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior.
-
The belief that
the Bible is totally accurate in all its teachings.
-
The belief that
Christians have a responsibility to share their faith in Christ with
non-Christians.
-
The belief that
Satan exists.
-
The belief that
salvation is possible only through grace---not works.
-
The belief that
Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth.
-
The belief that God is the creator of all
things, is all-knowing, all-powerful, a perfect deity and is continuing
to rule the universe today.
